A fast-growing, private equity-backed organization is seeking a Payroll Manager to own payroll operations across a multi-entity environment. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for someone who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and taking full ownership of payroll from end to end.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute payroll processing across multiple entities and states
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Own payroll-related configuration and administration within the HRIS/HCM platform
- Reconcile payroll data, deductions, taxes, and employee records
- Process garnishments, benefits deductions, and payroll tax requirements
- Develop and improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation
- Support payroll integration efforts related to business growth and acquisitions
- Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to resolve payroll-related matters
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of end-to-end payroll experience
- Experience managing payroll across multiple entities and/or states
- Strong understanding of payroll tax and compliance requirements
- Experience with HRIS/HCM payroll systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
