Help Bring Plano's History to Life! The Interurban Railway Museum is looking for friendly, curious, and dependable volunteers who enjoy meeting people and sharing stories. As a Volunteer Museum Docent, you'll welcome visitors to the museum, help them explore our exhibits, and share the story of the Texas Electric Railway and its connection to Plano and the surrounding communities. Volunteers may greet walk-in visitors, assist with scheduled groups and field trips, give tours of historic Car 360, help with special events, and support the day-to-day visitor experience at the museum. You do not need to be a train expert or a historian! We'll help you learn the museum and its stories. What matters most is that you enjoy talking with people, are willing to learn, and want to help visitors of all ages have a welcoming and engaging experience. This is a great opportunity for retirees, community members, history enthusiasts, train lovers, and students interested in history, education, museums, public history, or working with the public.
