Ferry Crewmember GovFirst is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Ferry Crewmember to support ferry vessel operations in Surry, VA. The successful candidate is responsible for: Directing vehicles and passengers to the proper location with clearly understood signals during loading and unloading operations. Ensuring proper spacing between vehicles to maintain passenger and vessel safety. Properly checking and securing the first and last vehicles in each lane. Providing information and assistance to passengers. Properly handling vessel lines and assisting with docking and undocking operations as required. Standing lookout watch when assigned and remaining alert during vessel operations. Patrolling vessel decks to ensure compliance with safety and health regulations. Maintaining awareness of security concerns and reporting suspicious behavior or violations immediately. Performing security sweeps of the vessel between crossings to ensure all passenger access areas are clear before reloading. Responding appropriately to emergency situations and assisting in emergency response activities. Serving as an emergency helmsman when trained and directed. Maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas and ensuring trash is removed regularly. Performing routine duties to maintain the safety, cleanliness, and orderliness of the vessel.
