We are seeking an experienced, field-driven Safety Manager to oversee steel erection activities on a major data center construction project in Johnstown, Ohio. Turner is the General Contractor, so the selected professional must understand Turner's safety expectations and be comfortable operating within a highly structured GC environment. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants consistent hours, a six-month assignment, and a visible role on a high-profile data center project. WHAT YOU'LL OWN:Daily field safety oversight for active steel erection operations Fall protection, elevated work, bolting, welding, rigging, cranes, and material handling Jobsite inspections, field observations, and immediate hazard correctionJHAs, pre-task plans, toolbox talks, and safety meetings Coordination with steel crews, subcontractor leadership, Turner, and project management Incident and near-miss investigations, documentation, and corrective-action tracking Verification that crews follow OSHA, project-specific, and Turner safety requirements A consistent, highly visible safety presence in the fieldWHAT WE NEED:5-10 years of construction safety experience Strong, hands-on steel erection safety experience Working knowledge of OSHA Subpart RExperience with fall protection, cranes, rigging, aerial lifts, and elevated work Working knowledge of Turner Construction safety expectations and procedures Confidence addressing unsafe work directly and professionally Strong field communication, documentation, and contractor-coordination skills Ability to work approximately 58 hours per weekTHE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS ROLE:You know steel erection, understand how a major GC operates, and do not manage safety from a trailer.
