The Reporting & Data Services team is a critical part of Antares, partnering across the organization to deliver technology, data and operational capabilities that support investment, investor and business processes. The UX/UI Developer, AVP is a hands-on design and engineering role that sits at the intersection of creativity and technology. This individual is responsible for designing and developing intuitive, scalable and accessible user experiences across a portfolio of enterprise software applications — bringing both the creative vision to imagine what an experience could be and the technical capability to build it. The role combines user experience design, front-end engineering and design system leadership to deliver consistent, high-quality solutions that improve usability and productivity. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments, is energized by rapid prototyping sessions where ideas become tangible in hours rather than weeks, and can move fluidly from discovery and workflow analysis through wireframing, high-fidelity prototyping, usability validation and production-ready implementation. This individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects and software engineers enterprise-wide, and will help shape how Antares applies a consistent, user-centered approach to its applications — including emerging AI-enabled experiences.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and engineering teams to understand user needs, workflows, business objectives and technical constraints. Conduct user research, workflow analysis and usability testing to identify opportunities to simplify complex business processes. Produce user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, flow diagrams, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity interface designs — including leading and participating in rapid prototyping sessions with business stakeholders to turn ambiguous ideas into testable concepts quickly. Translate approved designs into responsive, production-quality user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks and technologies. Develop, document and maintain a company-wide design system, including reusable components, interaction patterns, design tokens and accessibility guidance. Partner with software engineers to ensure design fidelity, technical feasibility, maintainability and consistent implementation across applications. Evaluate existing applications and recommend improvements based on user feedback, usability findings, accessibility requirements and product objectives. Ensure user interfaces align with corporate brand standards, responsive design practices and applicable accessibility standards. Contribute to front-end architecture, coding standards, peer reviews, quality assurance and continuous improvement practices. Define and track experience measures such as task completion, adoption and user satisfaction to inform design priorities and continuous improvement. Participate in Agile delivery activities, including planning, refinement, design reviews, demonstrations and retrospectives. Remain current with UI/UX research, front-end technologies, design tooling and emerging interaction patterns, including AI-enabled experiences.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated track record of designing and shipping user experiences that people rely on every day. This role requires more than visual design or front-end coding alone; candidates should be able to show where they have taken a product from research and concept through implementation, and how their work measurably improved usability, consistency or productivity.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, UX engineering, front-end engineering or a comparable hybrid role. A portfolio demonstrating user-centered design, interaction design, prototyping, design systems and implemented digital products. Proficiency with industry-standard prototyping and design tools — including Figma, Axure RP, Marvel and Balsamiq — and the judgment to select the right tool for the fidelity and speed the moment demands. Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 or SCSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, responsive design and component-based application development. Experience developing modern web applications with React or a comparable front-end framework. Experience creating or contributing to reusable design systems and component libraries. Working knowledge of accessibility principles and the ability to incorporate accessibility into design and implementation decisions. Experience working in Agile software delivery environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication skills — including the ability to articulate design rationale, present creative decisions with confidence, and build alignment across business, engineering and leadership audiences who may not share a design vocabulary. Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of independence across fast-moving, enterprise-scale projects — owning a workstream end-to-end, managing competing priorities without close supervision, and maintaining quality and momentum through ambiguity.
Preferred:
Experience designing and developing enterprise software, workflow applications, dashboards or data-intensive products.
Experience with Storybook, design tokens, Git, GitHub, CI/CD practices and cloud-based application delivery.
Experience with data visualization and presenting complex information in clear, decision-oriented interfaces.
Experience designing conversational interfaces, copilots, AI-powered workflows or other emerging interaction models.
Familiarity with WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines, assistive technologies and automated and manual accessibility testing.
Experience using AI-assisted design and development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Figma AI features, to accelerate prototyping and delivery.
Hands-on experience facilitating or participating in structured rapid prototyping sessions — such as design sprints, time-boxed ideation workshops or facilitated concept reviews — where producing a tangible, testable artifact within a compressed timeframe is the objective.
Experience in financial services, private credit, banking, capital markets or another regulated industry.
SkillsThis role requires a balanced combination of creative craft and engineering capability. The successful candidate brings genuine aesthetic sensibility alongside technical depth — equally comfortable facilitating a discovery session with business users, producing a high-fidelity prototype that makes stakeholders say "yes, that's exactly it," and writing the production code that brings it to life.
Strong user research and workflow analysis skills; able to uncover real user needs, map complex processes and translate findings into clear design direction.
Strong interaction and visual design skills, including layout, typography, hierarchy and information architecture for data-dense enterprise applications.
Hands-on front-end engineering ability to build responsive, performant and maintainable interfaces with React, TypeScript and modern CSS.Design systems thinking, with the ability to create reusable components, patterns and tokens that scale consistently across multiple applications and teams. Practical accessibility expertise, applying inclusive design principles from early concepts through implementation and testing.
Rapid prototyping skills — working fluently across Figma, Axure RP, Marvel and Balsamiq to match fidelity to purpose — with the creative judgment to convert a rough idea into a testable concept quickly and the discipline to iterate based on evidence rather than opinion.
Practical fluency with AI-enabled tools and interaction patterns, including designing clear, trustworthy experiences for AI-assisted workflows.
Technical fluency sufficient to collaborate credibly with architects and engineers on APIs, front-end architecture and delivery constraints.
Strong prioritization skills, balancing user needs, business value and technical effort across multiple applications.
Strong written, verbal and visual communication, including presenting design rationale and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
Core Technologies and ToolsFigma; Axure RP; Marvel; Balsamiq; HTML5; CSS3/SCSS; JavaScript; TypeScript; React; component libraries; design systems; design tokens; responsive design; accessibility testing; Git and GitHub; REST APIs; Storybook or comparable component documentation tools.
Competencies:
The successful candidate will bring a user-first, ownership-oriented mindset with a strong bias toward action, quality and creative excellence. They will be intellectually curious, energized by the challenge of turning complexity into elegant simplicity, and intrinsically motivated to deliver experiences that are not just functional — but genuinely well-crafted and a pleasure to use.
User Focus: Advocates for users, grounds decisions in research and evidence, and balances user needs with business and technical realities.
Craft & Quality: Brings genuine aesthetic sensibility and creative rigor to every interface — holding a high bar for visual craft, interaction artistry, code quality, accessibility and consistency, and never settling for "good enough" when something can be meaningfully better for the user.
Business Awareness: Understands business workflows and priorities and evaluates design opportunities through the lens of productivity, scalability and risk.
Influence & Collaboration: Builds credibility with business, product and engineering partners and aligns teams around shared design standards.
Ownership & Accountability: Takes responsibility for outcomes from concept through production, follows through on commitments and proactively removes barriers.
