Finger Joint Machine Operator

Responsibilities: Operate and monitor finger-jointing machinery and related equipment. Set up and make adjustments to equipment to maintain proper production and product quality. Inspect lumber and finished products for defects, proper dimensions, and quality. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed. Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean, organized, and safe. Identify equipment problems and communicate mechanical or operational issues to maintenance or supervision. Perform routine equipment checks and assist with basic maintenance as trained. Maintain consistent production while meeting quality standards. Safely handle lumber, materials, and equipment throughout the production process. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements. Complete production paperwork and records as required. Work cooperatively with other employees and departments to keep production running efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Previous experience operating manufacturing or sawmill equipment preferred. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and understand machinery operation. Ability to recognize equipment problems and troubleshoot basic issues. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing a quality product. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required. Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Ability to safely perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
