A4 | Project Architect

Overview: At CetraRuddy, an award-winning global architecture, planning, and interior design firm, we are dedicated to design excellence and believe that 'Architecture Is Home.' For nearly four decades, the firm has been guided by the principle that architecture and design must engage context and enrich the human spirit, seeking opportunities to craft innovative solutions and lead clients on their journeys toward building a new legacy. The firm's portfolio is defined by crafted details, innovative use of materials, and contextual sensitivity across residential, hospitality, educational, cultural, and commercial sectors. CetraRuddy is seeking a Project Architect to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the technical lead on your assigned projects, taking responsibility for the quality and completeness of the drawing set, leading coordination with clients, consultants and vendors, and carrying the project through construction administration. The ideal candidate has taken a project from documentation through construction, is comfortable presenting their own work to clients, and is ready to take ownership of outcomes rather than tasks. We look for proactive problem solvers who can contribute individually as well as structure and oversee work for others when applicable. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, a hybrid work schedule (remote Mondays and Fridays), great colleagues, and opportunities for professional development within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities: Serve as technical lead for assigned projects, responsible for the coordination, quality, and completeness of the drawing set across all phases. Act as task leader on large-scale projects, structuring deliverables and work plans. At times, serve as project manager on smaller projects with limited scope, managing schedule, deliverables, and day-to-day client communication under the direction of a partner or principal. Oversee coordination and communication with outside consultants and vendors, resolving cross-discipline conflicts and maintaining alignment with design intent. Participate in client meetings, presenting deliverables and responding to client questions with limited oversight. Lead construction administration when assigned, including submittal and RFI review, site observation, field reports, and coordination with the contractor. Research and apply building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility requirements, and coordinate with expediters and agencies as needed. Ensure adherence to firm-wide QA/QC processes and drawing standards. Mentor junior staff and interns in technical areas, reviewing their work and supporting the development of job-specific skills.

Required Skills & Experience: Professional degree in Architecture; Master's preferred but not required.
