The Detector Test Technician will perform QC testing and evaluation of detector systems and of the electronic components used in the systems. The Detector Test Technician will troubleshoot vacuum and electronic problems and load Ge crystals into cryogenic systems. The Detector Test Technician will be responsible for: Build radiation detector vacuum systems, including internal electronic componentsTroubleshoot vacuum and electronic problemsLoad Ge crystals into cryogenic systemsCleaning, and assemble parts for vacuum assembliesSoldering and/or brazing partsOperation of helium leak detector, and other vacuum equipmentOperate vacuum evaporation equipment and oscilloscopesClean and maintains vacuum equipmentFills liquid nitrogen containersCleans and maintains lab area and equipmentProvide support in all phases of Detector ManufacturingPerform electrical/electronic testing and troubleshooting of detectorsProvide technical support to Customer Service, with occasional customer interactionThe Detector Test Technician will have: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in electronicsTwo years experience as an electronics technician in a troubleshooting capacityAt least intermediate level experience with oscilloscopes, volt meters and other test/measurement equipmentKnowledge and experience with usage of computersAbility to work with a minimum of supervisionExperience with good soldering practicesSkills and ability to work with intricate and fragile componentsMeticulous and high affinity for detailsGood knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Office suite of products and computer data entryCompensation: Employee Type: Hourly Currency: USD Salary Minimum: 50,000 Salary Maximum: 60,000 Incentive: No
