As a Power Platform Developer, supporting our active contract with the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area, you will support and be an integral part of the team tasked to build and refine Power Apps and Power BI solutions in the Navy Flank Speed (Microsoft 365) environment. The NAVSEA 05Z Marine Engineering Directorate is responsible for providing the engineering and scientific expertise, knowledge, and technical authority necessary to design, build, maintain, repair, modernize, certify, and dispose of the Navy's ships, submarines, and associated warfare systems. Must possess an active U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance.
Location:
Hybrid, Washington Navy Yard (WNY). Must be within 300 miles of WNY and able to get to WNY for initial meeting and synch meetings 1-2 times a month.
In this role, you will:
- Solution Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power Platform solutions to automate processes, improve data visibility, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
- Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Integration & Customization: Integrate and customize SharePoint Online and related M365 products, focusing on Power Apps and Power Automate to extend functionality and streamline workflows.
- Workflow Automation: Design, develop, and implement automated workflows utilizing Power Automate.
- Dataverse Proficiency: Design and implement solutions leveraging Dataverse, SharePoint lists, as data sources and connectors for Power Platform applications.
- Reporting & Analytics: Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, SharePoint Online, and Power Apps to provide actionable insights.
- Training & Support: Develop and deliver end-user training materials and provide comprehensive technical support.
- Documentation & Iteration: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all developed solutions, with a commitment to continuous review and iterative improvement of knowledge management resources and tools.
- Collaboration & Independence: Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and manage individual tasks effectively.
- Data Integration: Create and manage Power BI dataflows and semantic models to allow for Power BI report creation and use.
- To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An active DoW Secret Security Clearance.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Software Development, Computer Science or other related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, and/or Dataverse.
- The ability to travel up to 10%.Additional desired experience and skills:
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL, and/or REST/Graph APIs, Power Fx, OData.
- Hands-on experience in Navy Flank Speed/M365 and DoD data handling practices.
