Job DescriptionThe Kitchen Master / KM Construction Group is seeking an experienced Kitchen & Bath Designer / Sales Consultant to join our growing residential design-build remodeling team. This is a client-facing design and sales position for someone who combines strong creative and technical design skills with the ability to build client relationships, discuss project budgets, present solutions, and close remodeling projects. Our projects include kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home renovations, basements, and other residential remodeling projects throughout Naperville and the western suburbs. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable working with homeowners making significant investment decisions, and capable of managing clients from the initial consultation through design development, selections, contract signing, and preparation for construction.
Responsibilities:
Meet with prospective clients to understand their remodeling goals, design preferences, project scope, and budget.
Develop creative, functional, and buildable kitchen, bathroom, and residential remodeling designs.
Prepare floor plans, cabinetry layouts, elevations, renderings, and client presentations.
Present design concepts, project recommendations, and proposals confidently and professionally.
Discuss project investment expectations and help clients align their design goals with realistic budgets.
Manage qualified leads throughout the sales and design process, including timely follow-up, presentations, proposal review, and contract closing.
Guide clients through cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, tile, flooring, hardware, lighting, and other material selections.
Complete selections and design documentation according to project deadlines to help maintain the production schedule.
Maintain accurate client correspondence, appointments, selections, and project information within Buildertrend.
Coordinate with our production team and trade professionals to verify dimensions, existing conditions, construction requirements, and project feasibility.
Review cabinetry plans, specifications, orders, and acknowledgements for accuracy.
Maintain strong client relationships that encourage referrals and repeat business.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in kitchen and bath design, residential remodeling, design-build, cabinetry, or interior design.
Kitchen and bath design experience and training.
Demonstrated sales ability within residential remodeling, kitchen and bath, cabinetry, or a related industry.
Strong knowledge of space planning, cabinetry, materials, specifications, and residential construction.
Comfortable discussing budgets, presenting proposals, overcoming objections, and asking clients to move forward.
Proficiency with Chief Architect, 20/20 Design, or similar design software.
Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and follow-up skills.
Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
Experience with Buildertrend or similar CRM/project-management software is a plus.
Associate degree or higher in Interior Design is preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience will also be considered.
NKBA, CKBD, NCIDQ, or similar industry credentials are a plus.
