Fire Prevention Specialist Duties Perform fire prevention functions to promote an effective fire prevention program. Inspect buildings and facilities to identify and correct fire and life safety hazards. Develop and conduct training courses on fire safety practices for all personnel. Schedule, coordinate, and evaluate fire drills in all occupied buildings. Conduct monthly inspections of fixed and portable fire protection systems. Issue permits for hot work operations to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. Assist in the inspection and acceptance testing of new construction fire protection systems. Respond to emergencies to assist the On-Scene Incident Commander. Conduct fire evacuation drills and prevention lectures covering building manager responsibilities. Organize and maintain a complete file of all fire prevention and protection documentation.
