We’re currently recruiting for an Import Coordinator to join an established freight forwarding company based in Chicago, IL.The ideal candidate will have experience managing air or ocean import shipments A–Z, from initial booking through to final delivery. However, they’re also open to candidates who have a good understanding of the import process and are looking to develop their experience. Strong customer service, accuracy and organizational skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
Manage air or ocean import shipments from start to finish.
Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, trucking companies and customers.
Prepare and review shipping documentation.
Track shipments and provide regular updates to customers.
Monitor shipment milestones and resolve any delays or issues.
Ensure shipments are handled accurately and delivered on time.
Maintain strong relationships with customers and service providers.
Requirements:
Previous freight forwarding experience, specifically air or ocean imports.
Experience managing import shipments.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: $50-65K depending on experience.
