Job TitleDispatch Operations ManagerJob DescriptionBreif Description: Dispatch operations involving outbound truck and rail shipmentsResponsibilitiesJob Duties/Responsibilities: Build, schedule and dispatch outbound truck freight via approved and collect freight carriersBuild, dispatch and coordinate scheduling of outbound rail freightUtilization of multiple computer programs directly and indirectly involved with truck and rail shipmentsCommunicate effectively with carriers, sales, members of dispatch team, transportation, production departments, I.T. and customersEngage with railroad representatives as necessaryAssist with calculating month end shipment forecast and supporting additional dispatch functionsAssist with perspective carrier evaluations and soliciting new carriersQualificationsRequirements: Ability to learn systems, carriers and customers' requirementsAbility to recognize trends and forecast vehicle needsAbility to process multiple pieces of information at a high rate of speed to arrive at best possible outcomeContinuous communication with all involved partiesHigh level of problem solving, prioritization, and organizational abilitiesStrong computer knowledge and computer application abilitiesCustomer service functionsPreferred: Previous customer service experiencePrevious dispatch experienceSteel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
