APPLY NOW (opens in a new tab)Expanding an Established Integrated Utility Infrastructure Platform Macrilon is a proven software and engineering platform that unifies utility infrastructure fielding, fiber and power route engineering design, and structural analysis in a single system. Licensed engineers review and stamp deliverables, and the field workflow turns fielded photos into annotated, manager-reviewed data ready for engineering use. The platform is already successfully active and in use by customers and can reduce multiple pain points other potential customers currently experience across the industry. We are hiring a business development professional to broaden the customer base with mapping companies, engineering firms, and utility owners. The ideal candidate already knows these industries, has existing relationships that can open doors, fully understands the technical capabilities of the software, and can lead other sales engineers while efficiently navigating the technical and commercial sales process.
About the Role:
You will drive customer expansion for an established platform and manage other sales engineers. Your focus is identifying and converting organizations that currently rely on separate fielding apps, design tools, and structural analysis software. Success depends on industry fluency, relationship leverage, the ability to explain technical details clearly, and showing how a single integrated system (with PE-stamped output and managed photo review) simplifies workflows and reduces risk for mapping firms, engineering companies, and utility owners.
What You’ll Do:
Expand Macrilon’s customer base among mapping/fielding companies, utility engineering firms, and utility owners (telecom and power).Manage and coach other sales engineers, setting priorities, supporting deal strategy, and ensuring consistent technical messaging. Fully understand and clearly explain the technical aspects of the platform, including field data capture and annotation, fiber and power route design workflows, structural analysis capabilities, licensed engineer review and stamping, and integration points. Leverage existing industry relationships and contacts to identify opportunities, secure meetings, and accelerate evaluations. Run a consultative sales process that connects Macrilon’s current capabilities to each prospect’s specific workflows and pain points. Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through technical discovery, proposal, and close. Partner with product, engineering, and field operations teams to address customer requirements and refine positioning based on customer feedback. Represent Macrilon with prospective customers and at relevant industry events where relationship building accelerates pipeline.
What We’re Looking For:
Extensive experience selling into or working with mapping/fielding companies, engineering firms, telecom/fiber providers, power utilities, or related utility infrastructure organizations.
Existing network and relationships with decision-makers or influencers at mapping firms, engineering companies, or utility owners.
Ability to fully understand and explain technical software capabilities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience managing or mentoring sales engineers or technical sales team members.
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales involving field data collection, engineering design, structural analysis, or geospatial/utility software.
Comfort discussing poles, fiber and power routes, structural loading, field data quality, and the practical constraints of utility infrastructure work.
Strong consultative selling skills and a track record of closing deals in industries with longer cycles and technical validation requirements.
Clear written and verbal communication; ability to prepare targeted proposals and value summaries.
Willingness to travel for key customer meetings as needed.
Preferred:
Prior exposure to fielding/inspection tools, fiber or power design software, or structural analysis platforms used for utility poles and infrastructure.
Background that includes time in field operations, engineering support, project management, or account management inside a mapping firm, engineering company, or utility.
Experience selling established SaaS or software platforms (not only services) into technical buyers.
Familiarity with joint-use or make-ready processes is a plus. Why This Role
Macrilon is already delivering value to customers. This role is about scaling that success across more mapping companies, engineering firms, and utility owners by bringing in someone who can open doors efficiently, explain the technical product in depth, lead other sales engineers, and speak credibly to the technical and operational realities of the work.
Compensation:
The salary and commission-based structure range is dependent upon each individual's experience and existing network. Once an applicant has been reviewed, the custom compensation package will be provided prior to the first interview. To apply: Share a short summary of your relevant industry experience, the types of companies and contacts you already know in this space, examples of managing sales engineers or technical teams, and any deals or projects involving utility fielding, fiber/power design, or structural analysis. Include a resume or LinkedIn profile. We look forward to speaking with candidates who can help broaden Macrilon’s customer base with existing relationships, deep industry knowledge, and strong technical fluency.
