About the Role: WorldTrips is looking for a part-time freelance writer to produce SEO-optimized content for our travel insurance website. You’ll research competitors, identify content gaps, and write pages that rank on Google, surface in AI search results, and convert qualified visitors into buyers. This is a writing role, but research and strategic thinking come first with a strong grasp of the latest SEO best practices and search behavior.

What You Will Do:

(not limited to but can include the following)
Assist with content updates for the website
Research the top-ranking pages for a target keyword before writing anything
Identify structural gaps, weak answers, and compliance risks in competitor content
Write clear, direct, well-structured pages in plain English
Develop content that demonstrates Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (E-E-A-T)
Follow an established style guide and compliance ruleset Deliver drafts with title tags, meta descriptions, internal link recommendations, and schema flags
Stay current on how Google and AI search engines select, extract, and cite content

Maintain a consistent brand voice while translating complex topics into clear, customer-friendly language. Ensure content is accurate, original, well-researched, and factually supported. Use AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency while maintaining originality and editorial quality.

What We Are Looking For:

SEO experience:5+ years of SEO writing experience, spanning both traditional search and the AI search era
Solid understanding of on-page SEO: content hierarchy, keyword placement, keyword density, internal linking, and search intent
Understands how Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and ChatGPT select and cite sources, and structures content accordingly
Ability to assess competitor pages critically, not just mimic them
Experience writing long-form and conversion-focused content

Familiarity with Google Search Console and SEO platforms such as SEMrush, BrightEdge, Moz, or similar. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. AI search experience:1-2 years experience Understands how LLMs retrieve and cite content, and writes with that in mind Follows developments in AI search closely and can translate them into content decisions without being told toOptimizes content for: Organic search rankings, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and other AI-powered search platforms Subject matter: Experience writing in regulated industries (insurance, finance, legal, healthcare) is strongly preferred Familiarity with travel, travel insurance, or adjacent verticals is a plus, not a requirement Success Metrics: Search ranking improvements AI search visibility and citations Content quality and accuracy On-time delivery Adherence to SEO and editorial guidelines Engagement Details Part-time, freelance contract RemoteProject-based with opportunity for ongoing assignments Ongoing engagement for the right writer; this is not a one-off project and will ebb and flow with content update needs To ApplyApply via LinkedIn.
