Key Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care on a 27-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving a diverse patient population including GI, GU, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, chest tubes, bariatrics, orthopedic pre- and post-op, and psychiatric patients, among othersMonitor and interpret telemetry strips; strips are printed every 4 hours and must be verified and documented by the RN — proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips is requiredTitrate drips including Heparin, Diltiazem, and Amiodarone per physician ordersAdapt to a multicultural patient environment utilizing available translator services (Proprio, Language Line, tablets, and video options); maintain an open and respectful approach to diverse cultures and dialectsFloat in-house as needed to ER holds, Definitive Observation units, and occasionally to other area facilities; mid-shift float to another facility is rare but possibleFollow surgeon-specific protocols and support OB overflow couplet care as needed, with OB RN float coverage availableRequired QualificationsActive RN license valid for the state of CaliforniaRequired certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSProficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry stripsAbility to titrate IV drips per physician ordersCompletion of the DYS Exam through UNA is required prior to contract start; candidates must score 80% or higher within 2 attempts within 24–48 hours of assignmentTwo supervisory references from the submitting modality required at time of submittal (charge nurse references accepted); one within the past 12 months and one within the past 3 yearsPreferred Experience / SkillsExperience working with high-acuity and diverse patient populations, including patients experiencing homelessness, substance use, or lower health literacyFamiliarity with Phillips monitoring systemsExperience with BiPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy (ventilators are not used on this unit) Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered if they demonstrate a willingness to seek supportWhy Join UsWork in a collaborative environment with charge nurses who provide break relief and RN aide support available based on census and staffing needsSelf-scheduling is utilized, offering some flexibility in shift selection within a structured, manager-balanced framework About Concentric Healthcare StaffingFounded and headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, Concentric Healthcare Staffing specializes in healthcare employment with an emphasis in nursing and allied health.
