Description: American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN with Epic experience required for a hospital float pool position caring for adult to geriatric patients. Details Float pool position within a hospital setting, covering Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry units Adult to geriatric patient population with all potential Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry diagnoses Patient ratio of 1:5-6Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM) Required to float to all Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry units within the hospital, including a sister campus approximately 3 miles away Works every other weekend, averaging 6 weekends over a 13-week contract No on-call requirements Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
Requirements:
  • Active GA or Compact RN license requiredBLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience preferred
  • Performs own vital sign checks and blood glucose checks
Additional Information:
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Full compliance required prior to start, as non-compliance results in a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
