Maintenance Technician -2 - Forest View, IL

Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on chemical processing machinery, pumps, gearboxes, mixers, motors, and rotating equipment. Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical components including bearings, seals, couplings, belts, chains, and process valves. Install, maintain, and repair process piping systems (up to 3") and associated instrumentation (gauges, transducers, thermocouples). Utilize CMMS work-order software daily to track, document, and manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using multimeters, reading electrical schematics, and working with 110V/220V/460V AC systems. Support plant reliability by participating in an after-hours rotating call-in schedule and working mandatory overtime/Saturdays as required by business needs. Strictly adhere to OSHA standards and plant safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, and PPE guidelines.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree, technical certificate, or formal military technical school/apprenticeship preferred.

Experience: Minimum 34 years of industrial maintenance experience (military electro-mechanical ratings highly preferred).

Mechanical Skills: Strong proficiency in repairing pumps, gearboxes, drive belts/chains, mechanical seals, and process piping.

Electrical Skills: Basic knowledge of electrical schematics, motor starters, multimeters, and AC power (110V460V). (PLC ladder logic understanding is a plus). Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver's License required (for driving facility vehicles across property). Powered Industrial Truck (Forklift/Scissor Lift) experience required. Physical & Environmental Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, wear a respirator when required, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
