Description:
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2+ years of PICU experience and a MO or compact RN license. Details Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) within a teaching hospital setting General pediatric critical care patient population with a 1:2-3 patient ratio Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) Blocked schedule options available (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) Schedule will flex to meet unit needs Mandatory floating required, including to PCU or MS units as needed, with Pediatrics staff floating anywhere in the organization as Patient Observers (sitters) Cerner charting system preferred
Requirements:
- Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience requiredTNCC certification appreciated but not required
- Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial and central line management, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, intubation, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with pediatric dosage calculations, antiarrhythmics, and IV vasopressors
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and on-unit telemetry monitoring
- Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
Additional Information:
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in a 24/7 healthcare facility
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
- Required to work assigned weekends, take call, and work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
- Rotating shifts and work during inclement weather may be required
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible, those residing 51-74 miles away may be offered the local rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none allowed in the first week due to orientation
- Re-orientation not required if returning within 18 months of a prior assignment
