Senior Musical Instrument Sales Associate

Music & Arts seeks a part-time Senior Sales Associate to drive sales and exceptional customer service in our retail store. In this role, you’ll help students, parents, and educators select band and orchestra instruments, accessories, rentals, and lessons that support their musical goals. Responsibilities include greeting customers, assessing their needs, recommending products and services, processing transactions, maintaining store displays, and meeting sales targets. You’ll collaborate with a student-focused, service-driven team while promoting music education and community engagement in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment. Provide consultative sales support for instruments, rentals, accessories, and lessons Greet customers and assess their musical needs and goals Recommend appropriate products and services to students, parents, and educators Process sales, rentals, returns, and lesson enrollments accurately Meet or exceed individual and store sales targets Maintain clean, organized, and well-merchandised sales floor and displays Support inventory receiving, tagging, and stock replenishment Collaborate with team members to deliver a student-focused experience Promote music education, events, and community engagement programs Handle basic customer issues and escalate complex concerns as needed Retail sales Customer service Point-of-sale (POS) systems Cash handling Product knowledge – musical instruments Merchandising Inventory management basics Sales reporting and tracking Communication skills Lesson and rental enrollment processes Background in music performance, education, or retail sales preferred Knowledge of band and orchestra instruments and accessories Point-of-sale and cash handling experience preferred
