Job Description:
Elmwood, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Draftsman with 3–5 years of experience to create detailed models, drawings, and fabrication documentation for machine shop and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion and have experience producing accurate technical drawings for machinists and fabricators.
Essential Duties:- Create and modify 3D models of parts using SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion.
- Develop detailed prints and technical drawings for manufacturing and fabrication.
- Create and work with assembly drawings and models.
- Prepare accurate cut lists for fabrication and production.
- Produce sheet metal bend drawings and related fabrication documentation.
- Develop shop drawings for machinists and fabricators to use during production.
- Ensure drawings include accurate dimensions, specifications, and manufacturing details.
- Coordinate with shop personnel to address drawing questions and support fabrication and machining activities.
- Revise drawings and models as needed based on production requirements.
Requirements/Skills:- 3–5 years of drafting, mechanical design, or related experience.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion.
- Experience creating detailed mechanical and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of assemblies, sheet metal components, bend drawings, and cut lists.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and specifications.
- Understanding of machining and fabrication processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with machinists, fabricators, and other shop personnel.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive computer and drafting-related tasks.
- Ability to occasionally walk through machine shop and fabrication environments as required.
- Ability to visually inspect drawings, models, parts, and fabrication details for accuracy.
