Greater Pittsburgh Dental Group is seeking a caring Dental Assistant to support our general and family dentistry practice in Pittsburgh, PA. In this patient-focused role, you will prepare treatment rooms, assist the dentist chairside with exams and procedures, take and process digital X-rays, sterilize and organize instruments, and maintain accurate patient records. You’ll educate patients on oral hygiene, ensure comfort and safety, and support front desk tasks as needed. Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental procedures Assist dentist chairside during exams, cleanings, and restorative treatments Take, process, and maintain digital dental radiographs (X-rays) Sterilize, disinfect, and organize instruments and equipment Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care Monitor and maintain dental supplies and operatory inventory Support front desk functions such as scheduling and patient check-in/out Follow infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA protocols Contribute to a professional, compassionate, team-based environment Chairside dental assisting Dental radiography (digital X-rays) Instrument sterilization and infection control Dental charting and documentation Dental materials handling and tray setup Patient communication and education Basic four-handed dentistry techniques Use of dental practice management software Inventory and supply management Understanding of OSHA and HIPAA compliance Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k State-recognized Dental Assistant training or equivalent experience Radiology certification for dental X-rays (Pennsylvania-compliant) CPR/BLS certification Knowledge of OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA standards Experience with dental practice management and imaging software preferred
