Role Overview: The
The Clinical Lab Section Lead ensures timely completion of activities initiated by the Core Lab Manager and Supervisor, overseeing daily operations within the laboratory section.
Responsibilities:
Performs all essential functions of a Med Tech 3 in assigned sections, managing daily work assignments.
Ensures completion of projects and tasks, collaborating with staff to meet regulatory requirements.
Provides feedback for quality improvement and assists with performance evaluations.
Maintains specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and records of patient results following laboratory procedures.
Ensures proficiency testing samples are processed consistently with patient samples.
Adheres to quality control policies, documenting all activities including calibrations and maintenance.
Follows corrective action policies when test systems deviate from performance standards.
Serves as a technical resource, assisting staff in troubleshooting and maintaining test accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills
Certifications: MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT or ASCP), MLS (AMT)
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or Clinical Laboratory Science
Minimum 3 years of clinical lab operations experience
