Company Overview:
ClearPoint Health believes health benefit solutions should be as unique as the businesses they serve. The thing employers have most in common is the problem they are trying to solve, yet that doesn’t mean it is the same solution for everyone. ClearPoint Health is a purpose-driven Alternative Funding Platform for small to mid-sized employers – harnessing the power of a community of businesses to generate market-leading discounts on medical stop-loss insurance, provider networks, cost containment solutions, and member navigation tools. We strive to enhance the quality of care and member experience while decreasing avoidable costs.
Position Overview:
ClearPoint Health is seeking a highly entrepreneurial, operationally, growth minded Account Executive who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role will own ongoing client relationships, lead monthly discussions on best practices and plan performance, and help employers optimize their benefits through ClearPoint’s products and solutions. Working closely with internal teams and partners, the Account Executive will ensure responsive support, identify opportunities to expand client adoption of relevant offerings, and build trusted relationships that drive measurable value and long-term retention. In order to make an application, simply read through the following job description and make sure to attach relevant documents.
Responsibilities:- Own the client relationship and strategic account plan
- Serve as the primary executive relationship owner for assigned employers, brokers, consultants, and captive members. Maintain a documented annual strategy covering financial objectives, funding structure, clinical opportunities, vendor performance, renewal strategy, and executive priorities.
- Demonstrate deep medical stop-loss expertise
Understand and confidently explain specific and aggregate stop loss, attachment points, lasers, aggregating specifics, contract bases, terminal liability, renewal provisions, rate caps, no-new-laser provisions, experience refunds, collateral structures, and other material stop-loss terms. A ClearPoint AE should be capable of evaluating a renewal beyond simply comparing premium.
Understand self-funded plan economics end-to-end
Be fluent in how the TPA, PBM, network, stop-loss carrier, clinical vendors, plan design, claims experience, employee contributions, reserves, and administrative expenses combine to determine total plan cost. Translate technical plan performance into language understandable to HR, finance, and the C-suite.
Advise clients across the funding continuum
Assess whether an employer should remain fully insured, move to level funding, transition to traditional self-funding, join a captive, or consider another alternative funding arrangement. The AE should proactively identify employers that have outgrown their current funding strategy and develop a roadmap toward a more sophisticated structure.
Possess captive expertise and educate clients on captive economics
Understand captive mechanics including risk layers, collateral, surplus, underwriting results, governance, distributions, renewal methodology, risk sharing, and long-term economics. Help clients distinguish between simply purchasing stop loss and participating strategically in a captive.
Drive value-added cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
Identify opportunities to improve both client outcomes and ClearPoint revenue through appropriate adoption of ClearCare, clinical cost management, concierge services, PBM strategies, network optimization, alternative funding, enhanced stop-loss structures, captive solutions, and other ClearPoint capabilities. Cross-selling should always be tied to a measurable client problem or economic opportunity.
Lead the renewal strategy—not merely administer itBegin renewal planning well in advance of the effective date. Analyze claims, large claimant activity, stop-loss performance, clinical opportunities, vendor performance, network utilization, pharmacy trends, underwriting results, and alternative structures. Present clients with a clear recommendation rather than simply presenting carrier options.
Use data to identify and execute cost-management opportunities & health plan optimization strategy
Interpret claims, pharmacy, utilization, stop-loss, and clinical data to identify actionable opportunities. Coordinate with ClearPoint's clinical, concierge, product, underwriting, and technology teams to convert insights into vendor stack optimizations and interventions and quantify results such as avoided claims, unit-cost improvement, reduced trend, improved utilization, or premium savings.
Own retention, client satisfaction, and account economics
Be accountable for retaining both the employer relationship and its associated revenue. Monitor client health, engagement, service issues, executive relationships, adoption, financial performance, and renewal risk throughout the year—not only at renewal. For ClearPoint, I would explicitly make NRR a core AE performance metric, along with client retention and expansion revenue.
Operate as the internal quarterback for the client Coordinate effectively across underwriting, carrier relations, TPA/PBM partners, ClearCare, clinical services, concierge, captive operations/QRM, finance, legal/compliance, and ClearOS. Escalate issues early, maintain disciplined documentation and follow-up, and ensure that commitments made to the client are executed.
