Contract: Estimated Start Date: 08/05/2024 - No End DateSkills and Responsibilities4-year degree in related field or 3-10 years of related experienceExperience installing groundwater and surface water instrumentation systems around dams, levees, and CCR sites for real-time data collection and performance monitoringInstrumentation and maintenance will include inclinometers, water quality equipment (pH, ORP, DO, turbidity, conductivity), portable solar battery charging stations, and cellular and satellite communication systemsExperience executing field investigations utilizing various drilling methods and resourcesExperience with soil and rock logging, monitoring well construction, groundwater monitoring, and field data reportingProviding technical and safety oversight to drilling contractors and consultantsSpecial NotesTypical work week is 4 days, 10 hours each (Monday - Thursday), with some 10-day shiftsExtensive travel throughout the southeastern United States, mainly Georgia, Alabama, and MississippiAgency will provide a vehicle (e.g., Ford F250 4X4 or similar); monthly rental paid by the Agency and reimbursed by Southern Company, with no markupReimbursements will include fuel costs, lodging, and meals related to work travel and overnight stays
