Applicants must have worked in this unit or setting within the past year to be considered for this position. Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical LocationAugusta, GA | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care on a General Medical Surgical unit serving an adult to geriatric population
- Perform vital sign checks and blood glucose checks independently as part of routine patient assessment
- Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:6, delivering safe and effective nursing care
- Utilize unit systems including Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and communication
- Float within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
- Fulfill call requirements including every other weekend, holidays, and relief charge duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submissionBLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All requested time off (RTO) must be finalized at time of submission; no RTO or schedule requests will be considered post-offer or onsite, including during orientation week
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; all compliance documents are due the Tuesday prior to start
- Local candidates are accepted
- Preferred Experience / Skills
- Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems
- Experience using SBAR communication framework in a clinical setting
- Prior experience in a General Med Surg unit environment
