Social Media Specialist — Basketball Pages (NBA / College) · RemoteMake your application after reading the following skill and qualification requirements for this position. The gig Menace runs one of the fastest-growing sports page networks on Instagram — 10+ accounts, millions of followers, and our American sports pages clear 200M+ views a month. We're building out the basketball side for the 2026–27 season — two pages: @menacehoops (143k followers) covering NBA, college, and youth basketball, and @menacebasketball in the future(page is pending right now) (161k followers), NBA only — and we need one person to run them. You will be working under the Head of American Sports. This is not a social media manager role. It's an operator role: you run the basketball pages the way you'd run your own, inside a proven playbook — daily posting cadence, reactive game coverage, and batch production that keeps the content banks full. You'll report directly to the Head of American Sports. Views are the KPI. When basketball is quiet, you help carry the rest of the network. The week Daily windows. A morning block to read the news cycle, cut anything timely, and set both pages' queues (each page runs 6–10 posts a day), plus an evening pass that covers the night's games and loads the next morning. Two production days. Batch 35–40 evergreen reels into the content banks using our templates — edited to read as original, not just clipped. One carousel day. Carousels are a bigger share of the mix now, so batch them here along with caption-bank refills; a flex day covers projects and cross-sport support. Game nights are work nights. The NBA plays almost every night from Oct 20 through April 11, then the playoffs run through June; college basketball runs November through the Final Four. In-game, the job is being first to the moment. Trade deadline (Feb 11), All-Star (Feb 19–21), March, and the postseason are the heaviest stretches of the year. What you'll own Both basketball pages. Day-to-day on @menacehoops and @menacebasketball. NBA reels run on both in season — same kind of clips, different moments, never the same clip twice. CBB and youth content runs on @menacehoops alongside it; share the queue so neither page doubles up or goes quiet. Speed. First-to-post coverage of in-game moments and breaking news: trades, injuries, deadline day, free agency, buzzer-beaters. Assembly. Clip selection and real editing in Canva/CapCut. Instagram is hammering originality, so every reel gets a transformative cut — trims, overlays, on-screen text, sequencing — not a raw repost. Carousels. A bigger share of the mix now — they're the originality-safe format. Build story-driven carousels from our prompts and banks, documentary-narrator tone, made to be saved and sent. The banks. Keep the content and on-screen caption banks deep and on-voice for both pages. Queue discipline. Spacing rules, scheduling, and the exceptions that let a big moment jump the line. The numbers. A weekly review: what hit, what didn't, what we change. Helping across the network Basketball is the first job; the network is the second. The division runs NFL, CFB, and basketball pages, with MLB on the way, and desks feed each other depending on who's in season. Expect to: Pull clips, write on-screen captions, and load queues for the NFL and CFB pages whenever they need hands: big football days, breaking news, or someone out. Pick up MLB coverage once that page launches. Flip to the other desks in the basketball offseason (July–September) — summer is football-season prep, plus MLB once that page is live. Cross-train on every page so nothing goes dark when someone's out. Who crushes this Proof, not a resume. You've grown a page yourself — size matters less than receipts showing you caused the growth. Native fan fluency. You watch League Pass, not just highlights. Rotations, rivalries, trade rumors, what NBA Twitter is arguing about tonight — and you know college hoops well enough to cover it, not research it. Editing chops. You turn raw footage into something that reads as yours — pacing, text, sequencing — fast, and you can build a carousel people save. Volume stamina. High-output, repeatable work at pace, every day, without quality slipping. Late-night availability. West Coast games end after midnight ET. Your schedule absorbs it without drama. Playbook first. You run the system without ego — and make it sharper instead of fighting it. Multi-sport range. Basketball is home, but you know NFL and CFB well enough to cut clips and write captions that don't miss. MLB is a plus. Details Remote. Independent contractor. Hours are shaped around the basketball schedule rather than office hours. Compensation is discussed at the offer stage.
