Production Operator

Machine Operator: The Machine Operator – Sortation is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated sortation equipment used in the processing and recovery of recyclable materials. This role monitors equipment performance, adjusts machine settings to optimize material flow and sorting efficiency, troubleshoots operational issues, and supports production goals. The Machine Operator maintains a clean and safe work environment, performs routine inspections, and works closely with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and product quality.

Responsibilities: Operate and monitor sortation equipment, including conveyors, optical sorters, shredders, metal separators, and screening systems. Adjust machine settings and operating parameters to maximize efficiency, throughput, and material quality. Follow production schedules and maintain consistent material flow throughout the process. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain performance standards. Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs through established procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to support production goals and continuous improvement efforts. Perform other duties as assigned.
