Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Completion of medical terminology course: Preferred
- Experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
Anesthesia Technician certification: Preferred Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
Facility Specific License/Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR: Required
Essential Functions:
Operates autoclaves and other cleaning equipment, in adherence with established policies. Assembles pressure line insertion and monitoring supplies and equipment. Assists physicians during line insertions. Troubleshoots patient monitoring equipment functionality, stock and calibrates patient monitoring equipment as needed on a daily basis, including capnography monitor equipment, emergency airway carts, laryngoscopes, blades and pediatric carts. Works collaboratively with staff, supervisors and vendors to ensure product quality while minimizing costs. Makes decisions regarding own work, often limited and confined to routine matters. Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
