Real Estate Attorney (Remote)

About Talkov Law Are you a litigation-loving legal eagle who dreams of resolving multi-million-dollar real estate feuds from the comfort of your couch? Want to work in a niche so rare most attorneys can’t pronounce it—let alone spell it? Welcome to Talkov Law, where we don’t just practice partition law—we created the niche and built California’s go-to solution for co-ownership chaos. We’re not your average law firm. With 12 attorneys and 12 staff, we’re tight-knit, efficient, and the perfect mix of serious legal firepower and genuine human connection. We handle more partition actions than any firm in California (and likely the country), and we’re growing fast. There’s never a dull day—and that’s exactly how we like it. If you’ve got a sharp legal mind, a sense of humor, and a fondness for both spreadsheets and people, you’ll feel right at home here.

Drafting complaints, motions, and briefs that actually move cases forward Negotiating with opposing counsel over properties worth millions Reviewing financial records and discovery with a forensic-accountant level of care Keeping clients informed, supported, and confident throughout the process Collaborating directly with our Litigation Partner and Managing Partner (who literally wrote the book on partition law) As you grow, taking on increased responsibility and leadership within the firm You Might Be the One If… You’re the person friends call to help settle disputes—or at least proofread the follow-up text. You appreciate legal nuance, work well on a team, and can juggle multiple cases without breaking a sweat. And when someone says “partition,” you don’t think “cubicle walls.” More importantly, you know how to talk to people—especially when they’re stressed. Our clients may be suing a sibling, an ex, or even a parent. They need more than strong legal strategy; they need someone calm, steady, and genuinely empathetic. You listen well. You communicate clearly. You know how to offer reassurance without overpromising. If your idea of a great day includes winning cases and helping someone feel heard and understood, you’ll thrive here. If you prefer minimal interaction and letting paperwork do all the talking, this probably isn’t the right fit—and that’s okay.

Litigation and/or real estate experience (or the confidence and curiosity to learn fast) A genuine interest in supporting clients through emotionally charged disputes Comfort working with numbers—Excel or Google Sheets doesn’t intimidate you Strong organization, attention to detail, and deadline management Fluency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Word Ability to stay composed, professional, and effective in high-conflict situations A sense of humor helps—but emotional intelligence is non-negotiable Why Join Talkov Law?
