Job TitleRN (Registered Nurse) - IMC/PCU/Stepdown Float Pool LocationPrescott, AZ Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract Days 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Every other weekend required Holidays included in staff rotation Travelers expected to maintain flexibility with unit assignments
Key Responsibilities:
- Float across MedSurg Tele and PCU units on multiple campuses, including coverage for inpatients holding in the EDProvide direct patient care for a diverse population including geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and post-CABG (day 3-4) patients
- Titrate and manage drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin; comfort managing the majority of these drips is required
- Interpret cardiac monitor strips; monitor techs are available for PCU and MedSurg Tele, with bedside monitors present in Stepdown
- Manage respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow in applicable units
- Care for groin sites in the Stepdown unit following cardiac catheterization procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN licenseBLS certification requiredACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a PCU setting
- Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Must not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated health system facility within the past year
- Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a float pool or multi-unit environment
- Familiarity with cardiac step-down care, including post-cath and post-CABG patient management
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently
- Experience working with nurse aide support in a team-based care model
