Who We Are:
Cornell Forge is a recognized leader in the forging industry with a longstanding reputation for producing complex parts. Our facility is located just south of Chicago in Bedford Park. We are currently recruiting for a 3rd Shift Hot Inspector. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, preferably in steel, forging or machining. Applicants must be organized, self-motivated and able to complete tasks unsupervised.
Essential Functions:
- Take hourly samples directly from the hammer/press in an efficient and safe manner.
- Thorough visual inspections of the part for imperfections.
- Dimensional inspection of parts using a caliper, micrometer, height gage, etc.
- Hourly non-destructive Magnaflux testing.
- Promptly inform supervisors of non-conformances during production.
- Perform dimensional studies, layouts, and capability studies.
- Accurate entry of tracking information and inspection data into Excel.
- Assist with corrective action investigations.
- Using forklift to transport material as needed
- Practice safe work habits and follow safety rules.
Salary: $18 - $20, depending on experience

Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience using inspection equipment (calipers, height gages, etc.)Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a safe manner around hazardous equipment.
Strong blueprint reading and comprehension.
Have a continual improvement mindset.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
