APPLY NOWA well-established, family-owned steel service center with approximately 40 years in the industry is looking to add a senior operations leader to its Arkansas facility. The site has recently expanded to approximately250,000 sq. ft.and is continuing to invest in growth, including the addition of a newcut-to-length line. This person will own the day-to-day operational performance of the facility, lead roughly50 employees, and have the current Plant Manager reporting directly to them. This is a high-autonomy role for someone who enjoys improving operations, developing teams, and driving measurable results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations across production, maintenance, shipping/receiving, and related plant functions
- Improve throughput, uptime, production planning, and maintenance execution
- Strengthen safety, accountability, and operating discipline
- Coach and develop the existing Plant Manager and broader leadership team
- Support continued facility growth and equipment expansion
- Identify bottlenecks and implement sustainable process improvements
Ideal Background:
- Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager, or similar leadership experience
- Steel service center, steel processing, metals, or heavy manufacturing background preferred
- Experience leading teams in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Strong track record improving throughput, safety, maintenance, scheduling, and accountability
- Cut-to-length, slitting, coil processing, or flat-rolled steel experience is a plus
- Comfortable operating with significant autonomy and ownership
