Mining Engineer

Job Duties: Provide mining engineering and design services for underground mine studies, including scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, detailed design and S-K1300 technical reports: Manipulating block modelsSelecting appropriate mining methodsCalculating cut-off gradesOptimization and mine designsPreparing mine plans and production schedulesDetermining equipment fleetsEstimating mineral reservesEstimating capital and operating costsContributing to financial modelsWriting and contributing to study reportsWork closely with our geology, ventilation, rock mechanics, drill-and-blast and infrastructure teamsManage the mining scope of large projectsLiaise with clients on technical matters and present results professionallyDeliver high-quality services that uphold the company's professional reputation Qualifications: Undergraduate or graduate degree in mining or geological engineering from a recognized universityExperience working at a mining operation in engineering and/or project evaluationAt least 4 years of relevant experienceMember of a professional association for engineers or eligible to register with oneAdvanced proficiency with mine design and planning software (Deswik preferred) Experience selecting mine equipment and estimating capital and operating costsWorking knowledge of budgeting, scheduling and financial modellingUnderstanding of the key components required for a successful mining operation (processing, tailings, infrastructure) Passion and aptitude for collaborationExcellent communication and presentation skills, written and spokenAbility to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical mannerWillingness to travel both domestically and internationally, for varying durations and occasionally to remote locations Employee Benefits: Competitive annual salary Annual bonus program Group insurance plan from the first day of employment 401(k) Annual paid time off (PTO) Multiple options for career growth and mentorship
