Position Summary:
Set-up, process, and operate the equipment for production runs.
Role qualifications:2+ years of PET Sheet Extrusion experience.
Experience with materials such as polyesters and styrenics.
Position Responsibilities:- MRS Extrusion Line operators perform necessary changeovers, process checks, and quality checks to safely produce extruded plastic sheet
- Responsible for recording all process parameters during production run.
- Work safely at all times, comply with all Personal Protection Equipment guidelines
- Assists with basic Maintenance tasks as assigned
- Completes 5S tasks and checklists as assigned
- Employee may be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Essential skills and experience:
- Strong mechanical skills
- Able to work independently through entire process
- Read, write, and communicate in English
- Communicate via verbal and written technical information like pressures, temperatures, dimensions, materials, and other specifications
- Maintain basic set of tools: tape measure, utility knife, safety shoes, flashlight, etc.
- Read a micrometer, tape measure, and other instruments
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Read and understand written Standardized Work Instruction Sheets
- Possess current Mercury Plastics forklift certification, or be willing to attend training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work performed in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work in a hot environment particularly in summer months. Job requires standing, bending, twisting, squatting, leaning, and other physical requirements in a manufacturing setting. Work may require working at different workstations as production needs require.
