Resident Teacher Beaumont Independent School District serves approximately 16,315 students across 26 schools and plays a central role in the strength and future of the Beaumont community. As a district with deep history and resilience, BISD is committed to building a school system where every student experiences strong teaching and meaningful learning every day. BISD is focused on strengthening student outcomes through a coherent approach to instructional excellence, leadership development, and system alignment. The district is working to ensure that every student is known, supported, challenged, and prepared, with improvement that is not temporary, but sustained through clear expectations, aligned systems, and disciplined execution. Achieving this vision requires strong, forward-thinking leadership. BISD is seeking dedicated, results-driven leaders who are committed to improving outcomes for all students and building a system where resources, people, and priorities are aligned to what matters most—teaching and learning. Join us in building a stronger, more coherent school system for Beaumont—one where every decision strengthens student outcomes and long-term system effectiveness. The Resident Teacher serves as an early-career educator who supports classroom instruction while developing the knowledge, habits, and instructional skills required to become an effective teacher in Beaumont ISD. Resident Teachers help strengthen instructional continuity, support daily classroom execution, and build a sustainable internal pipeline of future teachers. Resident Teachers work alongside effective teachers and campus leaders to learn the BISD instructional model through real classroom practice. This includes supporting direct instruction, participating in PLCs and Demo Day, assisting with lesson readiness, reinforcing routines, helping monitor student learning, and stepping into instructional support roles when needed. Because BISD is building a coherent instructional system, Resident Teachers are expected to learn not only what to do, but why the work is structured the way it is—so that instruction remains aligned, consistent, and focused on student mastery. The role is intentionally developmental. Resident Teachers are expected to grow through coaching, modeling, observation, and hands-on practice in the classroom. They contribute to a high-performance culture by showing professionalism, preparation, openness to feedback, and commitment to strong instruction every day. Over time, the role prepares Resident Teachers to become full classroom teachers who can lead instruction with confidence, precision, and alignment to district expectations.
