Contaminated Cart Pick-up: Retrieve used case carts containing biohazardous, soiled instruments from the OR soiled utility rooms after procedures are completed.
Infection Control: Transport soiled carts back to the SPD Decontamination area following strict infection prevention protocols, utilizing designated "dirty" elevators and corridors to prevent cross-contamination.

Route Efficiency: Navigate the complex interior corridors connecting Tacoma General (adult/general care) and Mary Bridge (pediatric care).Schedule Coordination: Align transport runs with the daily surgical schedules of both hospitals, prioritizing urgent trauma cases (Tacoma General is a Level II Trauma Center, and Mary Bridge is a specialized pediatric center).Scanning and Tracking: Use barcode scanners and tracking software (like SPM or Censitrac) to log the location of case carts as they leave SPD, arrive at the OR, and return to decontamination.
