Vice President of Business Development, Health Plans

About the Role: The Company is seeking a Vice President of Business Development, Health Plans to drive revenue growth by winning new clients, expanding into new markets, and growing existing health plan partnerships. The role owns an annual growth quota and leads complex enterprise sales cycles, developing tailored proposals and value propositions across Medicare Advantage, ACA, commercial, and Medicaid lines of business. The successful candidate will partner with account management and cross-functional teams to shape deals, negotiate contracts, coordinate client handoffs, and maintain disciplined pipeline and bookings forecasts. Responsibilities also include representing the organization at industry events, tracking business development metrics, and bringing market insights into commercial and product planning. Candidates should have at least seven years of enterprise sales or business development experience selling to health plans, with a record of winning new clients and expanding existing accounts; experience with Blue Cross Blue Shield and regional health plans is required, and Medicare Advantage experience is preferred. A bachelor's degree is required, with a business- or science-related field preferred; an advanced degree is an asset. Strong executive communication, consultative selling, negotiation, commercial judgment, pipeline management, and forecasting skills are essential, along with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities. Fluency in using AI is required, while experience with health plan quality programs, diagnostics, population health, and CRM tools is beneficial.
