Closer to a structured student programme than a modelling-heavy role—the placement spans several actuarial areas instead of building depth in one. Summer 2027 actuarial internship in Chicago with CNA's commercial insurance Actuarial organization. Over 10 weeks, you'll receive practical assignments in pricing, reserving, portfolio management, or Long Term Care, supported by a manager and structured learning sessions. The program spans P&C and Life & Health work and uses a hybrid schedule of three office days and two optional remote days.
Requirements
Must have:
- At least sophomore standing
- Familiarity with the actuarial exam process
- Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship or visas
- Strongly preferred:
- Expected graduation date between Dec 2027 and May 2029 Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
- Interest in the insurance industry
- Interest in pursuing an actuarial career upon graduation
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective problem solving, analytical aptitude, and ability to embrace change
- Willingness to relocate to Chicago for the summer internship
Nice to have: GPA of 3.25 or higher Demonstrated leadership ability
