The Long Beach Yacht Club offers a rare chance to lead a globally recognized sailing institution with real Olympic-level impact. Its waterfront, regatta management and junior programs connect directly to a pipeline of athletes and coaches competing nationally and internationally. The next General Manager will also guide the most significant capital project in the LBYC’s 100-year history: a full clubhouse and pool redevelopment beginning in 2027, shaping facilities, operations and member experience and leaving a lasting architectural and cultural legacy. The LBYC’s membership is genuinely multigenerational, spanning families, youth sailors, competitive racers, professionals, retirees and community leaders across Long Beach and Southern California, and the GM leads with an eye toward inclusion, ensuring the Club’s next century reflects the community it serves. Operationally, this is a true enterprise: national and international regattas, a year-round junior sailing program, dockmaster and boatyard operations, a fleet of Club-owned boats and a vibrant social and aquatic program, complexity and prestige in equal measure. As the LBYC approaches its 100th anniversary in 2029, its next GM becomes the cultural steward of a Corinthian institution, shaping staff engagement, member experience and the club’s public reputation.
