Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanics to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, and related machinery at customer job sites throughout the contiguous United States. This is a true field/mobile role with significant travel.
Key Responsibilities:- Travel to customer locations across the lower 48 to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, etc.), diesel trucks, and specialized machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance, hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and mechanical repairs on-site
- Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to accurately identify and resolve issues
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts documentation
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding findings, repairs, and recommendations
- Keep service vehicle/tools clean, organized, and in good working condition
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures while working independently in the field
Requirements:- 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, or mobile field mechanic (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
- Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and travel extensively
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (CDL a plus but not required)
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather and conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and professional customer service attitude
- Willingness to travel regularly across the lower 48 (multi-week assignments)
Preferred Qualifications:- ASE, Caterpillar, Cummins, John Deere, or other manufacturer certifications
- Experience with construction equipment, rail related equipment, or renewable energy site machinery
- Welding or fabrication skills
