Overview:
For the past 7 years, I have worked with privately held, technology-driven healthcare and life sciences organizations and am connecting with individuals interested in prospective governing board opportunities. Please note that this posting is not for a specific or current opening. These companies seek directors with the expertise, vision, and conviction to help shape a better healthcare ecosystem – not simply oversee incremental improvements to existing approaches. These organizations are interested in individuals who see patients as active partners in care, recognize the opportunity to strengthen clinicians’ capabilities, and want to help make healthcare more personalized, effective, accessible, and sustainable. Current expertise. Transformative vision. Independent judgment. These companies are building boards with complementary strengths, not seeking every capability in a single director. Relevant areas of deep expertise include: AI/ML, intelligent systems, and supercomputing Sensing technologies and integrated engineering Clinical translation and FDA regulatory strategy Legal strategy, governance, and commercialization Candidates should be able to demonstrate recent, substantive contributions in their areas of expertise, and the ability to engage thoughtfully across disciplines. Each director should, however, be prepared to understand the implications of these technologies, recognize the limits of their own expertise, and work constructively with colleagues whose knowledge complements their own. The contribution that is valued Companies are looking for individuals who are intellectually curious, willing to challenge established assumptions, and motivated to help create substantially better approaches to healthcare. That includes questioning not only how a technology works, but also how it changes clinical practice, patient participation, access to care, organizational responsibilities, and the economics of delivery. These individuals understand that disruptive innovation and rigorous attention to evidence, patient safety, responsible technology use, and regulatory obligations must advance together. Prior board experience is not required First-time board directors are welcome. Organizations in the new economy place greater weight on demonstrated expertise, current engagement, sound judgment, collaborative leadership, and a compelling vision for healthcare than on previous board appointments. First-hand experience directly relevant to healthcare or life sciences is required. That experience may come from industry, academia, clinical practice, engineering, regulatory affairs, law, entrepreneurship, or commercialization. Express your interest Send a résumé or CV and a brief cover letter describing your current area of expertise, recent work relevant to these opportunities, and the changes in healthcare you are most motivated to help achieve.
