Job DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Laser Operator (3rd Shift)
REPORTS TO:
Industrial SupervisorPOSITION SUMMARY: The function of the Laser Operator is to ensure that laser machine at Martinrea is maintained and in proper safe working order. Must be able to run CNC Laser. Schedule provided, must be able to meet demand. Skeleton Crew, must be able to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the companyEnsure Machine Set-up meets production and quality goalsTraining and monitoring of all operators in the correct and safe use of equipmentEnsure all machines are operating at maximum efficiency and utilizationPhysically maintain laser machines and equipment at MartinreaMust ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift endFollow Machine Safety Guidelines, ensure proper lock out procedure are followed at all timesMaintain proper Martinrea housekeeping standardsOn call for emergenciesAll other duties as assigned by Supervisors and ManagersAbide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee HandbookCOMPETENCIES (Job Knowledge/Skill, Education and related experience) High degree of Mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical proceduresComplete understanding and knowledge of lock out proceduresAbility to read drawings, blueprints, schematics and manualsAbility to incorporate technical reportsVast knowledge of laser equipment requiredable to use measurement toolsWORKING CONDITIONSWorking in a plant environmentFrequent distractions and interruptionsMultiple demands, challenging, fast paced, team orientated environment, can be noisyLift up to 50lbsEFFORT - PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDSConstant standing, walking, bending and lifting (light to heavy), ocassional climbingWarm/Cold temperaturesCommunication with Supervisors and ManagementOvertime as requiredPERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTSSteel toe safety shoesSafety glassesEar PlugsGloves
