Fox Grand Traverse Ford is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Master Certified Commercial Truck Technician / Working Shop Foremanto join and help lead our established Commercial Truck Service Center in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished commercial truck technician who enjoys turning wrenches, solving challenging diagnostic problems, and helping fellow technicians succeed. Our Commercial Truck Center servicesall makes and models of commercial trucks, and we are looking for a hands‑on leader to help oversee the daily operations of our five-technician team. This is not a desk job! Your primary responsibility will be diagnosing and repairing commercial vehicles while providing technical leadership, coordinating shop workflow, and helping maximize team performance.

Hands-On Technical Responsibilities Diagnose and repair a wide variety of commercial trucks, including multiple makes and models. Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, diesel, and drivability diagnostics. Maintain strong personal productivity while delivering high-quality repairs. Utilize diagnostic equipment, technical resources, and industry best practices. Assist with complex repairs and troubleshooting when needed. Working Shop Foreman Responsibilities Provide daily leadership and technical guidance to a five-technician commercial truck team. Coordinate with Service Advisors to prioritize repairs and maintain efficient workflow. Support technician productivity, efficiency, and quality workmanship. Mentor technicians and help develop their technical capabilities. Monitor shop performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Promote a positive, safe, and team-oriented work environment. Help ensure repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
Qualifications:
Required Master Technician certification and/or applicable Michigan State Mechanic Certifications. Extensive hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing commercial trucks. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, drivetrains, and commercial vehicle repair. Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to balance individual repair productivity with team leadership responsibilities. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Preferred Previous Shop Foreman or Lead Technician experience. Experience servicing multiple commercial truck makes and models. ASE Master Technician Certification. Experience mentoring and developing technicians. Ford certification is not required.
