Join our team and help provide accurate financial information for farrow-to-wean hog producers while supporting key business decisions.
About the Role:
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, managing reconciliations, and reviewing profitability statements to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial records associated with farrow-to-wean hog producers
- Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure transactions are accurately recorded
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Manage and reconcile accounts receivable, inventory, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, accounts payable, and accrued expenses
- Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
- Submit weekly and monthly financial reports
- Track farm project costs and determine capitalization versus expensing
- Perform variance analysis
- Assist with year-end close processes, including preparing information for tax preparers
- Support additional accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldACA or CMA certification preferred 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in agriculture Basic understanding of tax basis accounting

Compensation & Benefits:
