Special Education TeacherThornton, CO | On-siteMonday–FridayFull-Time available: Middle School & Elementary SchoolPart-Time available: Middle SchoolAvailable SettingsMiddle School – Grades 6–8Approximately 50% Significant Support Needs (SSN) and 50% Learning Specialist responsibilitiesSupport approximately 14 students in the SSN program, plus additional mild/moderate support studentsDevelop individualized instructional strategies and support student learning and progressCollaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and school staffElementary School – K–5Structured Learning Services / Center-Based ProgramPrimary focus on K–2Caseload of approximately 8–14 studentsSupport students with Autism and varying support needsWork alongside paraprofessionals and school support staffImplement structured classroom routines and effective behavior-management strategiesKey ResponsibilitiesProvide specialized instruction based on individual student needsDevelop and implement individualized educational strategiesSupport academic, behavioral, social, and developmental goalsMonitor student progress and adjust instruction as neededImplement accommodations and modificationsMaintain accurate student and service documentationCollaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, and familiesFoster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environmentQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related fieldActive Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education license/credential required and must be in hand for considerationExperience working with students with diverse learning and support needs preferredExperience with Autism, SSN, Mod/Severe, or behavior management is strongly preferred for applicable assignmentsStrong classroom-management, communication, and collaboration skillsAbility to work effectively in an onsite school environment
