Job Description [Job Description]Manages the wastewater operation to assure the most efficient and economical use of chemicals and equipmentProvide electrical and mechanical maintenance to maintain proper operation of the treatment plantMonitors proper chemical usagePerforms daily inspection of treatment plant probes, pumps, filters, tanks, and controllersConducts daily monitoring of specific condition to determine the overall viability of the treatment plantAnalyzes and provides proper records of the plant as well as discharge levels to management staffProvides weekly samples for analysisRecords daily readings of the treatment plant as well as daily water meter readings in specific areas throughout the production facilityComplies with all applicable laws and regulations and is the point person for EPA and DPADemonstrates safety/OSHA principals and always follows proper lockout proceduresCompletes project and other duties that may be assigned
Requirements:
Skills/QualificationCandidate must have a Grade 4M or above certificate issued by State of MassachusettsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field a plusThree to five years of similar work experience in the operation and maintenance of high volume wastewater treatment facilityThorough knowledge of chemicals used in the daily operation of wastewater facilitiesMechanical aptitude, ability to understand data from gauges, scales, and valvesProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelKnowledge of regulatory procedures and reporting requirementsAbility and willingness to work longer shifts and that may include weekends and holidaysAble to walk, stand for extended periods of time, sit and talk or hear regularlyAble to use both hands and fingers to feel or handle, sit for extended periods of time, stand frequently, bend, squat, reach and turnAble to adapt to temperature changes of hot and cold conditionsAbility to handle heights and confined spacesMust be able to lift up to 100 pounds - may require a push or pull with a dolly or pallet jack up to 500 lbs
