Job Description:- Job Description
- Field Technician — No Experience Required | 100% TravelWe're Not for Everyone. We're Okay With That.
- Axcex Media LLC is a nationwide systems integrator serving healthcare facilities, data centers, commercial facilities, hospitality, professional sports, and other demanding environments across the United States.
- We install and integrate electrical, communications, security, life-safety, and technology systems.
- We've been doing this since 2007, and we've built our company around a pretty simple philosophy:
- Work hard. Solve problems. Take pride in what you do. Own your mistakes. Keep getting better.
- We're human. We've made mistakes as a company, and we'll make more. When we're wrong, we expect ourselves to own it, learn from it, and improve.
- We expect the same from our people.
- If you're looking for a job where nobody notices whether you show up, perform, learn, or contribute, this probably isn't it.
- If you want to learn a skilled trade, travel, work on interesting projects, and build a career based on what you're capable of doing, keep reading.
- No Experience? That's Okay.
Seriously.
We hire entry-level technicians and train them.
You don't need years of industry experience. You do need the ability and desire to learn, follow direction, think on your feet, solve problems, and work with your hands.
We care about attitude, aptitude, work ethic, and character.
We can teach you how to do the work.
We can't teach you to care about doing it well.
Experienced technicians are welcome too. We're a growing company, and capable people have opportunities to take on greater responsibility.
Let's Be Very Clear About the JobWe don't believe in hiding the difficult parts of a job posting and surprising you after you're hired.
This position requires:100% travel. Typically Monday through Friday, but some projects require being away for multiple weeks.
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
The ability to pass required background checks.
Compliance with our 100% tobacco-free workplace policy.
The ability to pass pre-employment and required drug testing.
Willingness to share a hotel room with another employee while traveling.
The ability to perform physical work, including lifting and working at heights.
Residence in the Chicago Metro Area.
Read that list again.
If something there doesn't work for you, please don't apply. There is nothing wrong with deciding this isn't the job for you. We'd rather be completely clear with each other now than waste your time—or ours—later.
What You Can Expect From UsWe expect accountability from our employees, so you should expect accountability from us.
You should expect us to give you the opportunity to learn, provide the resources necessary to perform your job, communicate expectations, recognize performance, and listen when you believe something isn't right.
We won't promise perfection.
We will promise effort.
You won't be expected to know everything on your first day.
You will be expected to learn.
You won't be expected to never make a mistake.
You will be expected to own it when you do.
So will we.
Want to Know What We're Really Like?
Don't rely solely on a job advertisement written by the company trying to hire you.
Ask us.
Have a concern about the job? Our policies?
Travel?
Management? Career opportunities? Something you've heard about Axcex?
Bring it up. Ask the uncomfortable questions.
We won't be offended, and we won't give you a canned HR answer. We want you to understand who we are just as much as we want to understand who you are.
Then decide for yourself whether we're the right fit.
We're not trying to hire everyone.
We're trying to find the right people.
Relentless. Resilient. Right.
