Principal Traffic Engineer

Responsibilities: Lead traffic engineering design teams and supervise designers, planners, CAD drafters, and technicians. Manage schedules, budgets, contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work. Coordinate with clients, public agencies, and internal project teams. Deliver municipal traffic engineering services, traffic signal and control plans, signing and striping plans, Traffic Impact Analyses, and transportation studies.

Qualifications: BS in Civil Engineering and California registration as a Professional Civil Engineer or Traffic Engineer. At least 7 years of traffic engineering/planning experience, or equivalent 12 years in the industry. At least 5 years of management experience supervising technical staff. Recent Southern California experience; San Diego County experience preferred. Strong independent judgment, leadership, and client relationship skills. Familiarity with HCS, Vistro, Synchro, California Vehicle Code, MUTCD, and Highway Capacity Manual. Transit planning/design experience is a plus.
