30-50% domestic and international travel required We’re partnering with a private equity-backed materials production company on the search for a Commercial Director to build and lead its commercial function. The business has made significant investment into its US operations and is now in active production, creating the need for a dedicated commercial leader to take ownership of the next stage of growth. - Structure and negotiate complex, high-value supply and customer agreements, including individual contracts worth $20M+Own pricing strategy and commercial terms while balancing revenue growth, margins, supply requirements and risk
- Build scalable sales, account management and customer service capabilities as the business grows
- Establish the processes, systems and commercial infrastructure required to support a significantly larger organization

- Identify new markets, customers, partnerships and other opportunities to expand the company's national footprint
- Represent the business externally with major customers, suppliers and other strategic partners
- Present commercial performance, market opportunities and risks to the CEO, executive leadership and private equity board
- Build and lead a high-performing commercial organization as the function scales

- Proven success building or significantly scaling a commercial, sales or business development function
- Exceptional executive presence, communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to operate equally effectively with customers, plant leadership, executive teams and investors
- A builder mentality and genuine desire to create the function rather than inherit an established commercial organization
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree welcomed
- Comfort with up to 50% travel domestically and internationally
